Jukebox LicensingJuly 2025Earlier this year, we notified licensees about the closure of the Jukebox License Office and the transition from a single jukebox license to obtaining individual ASCAP, BMI and SESAC licenses. While we anticipated having a new process by July 1, we are examining further to ensure the process is clear and easy to implement. In the interim, your license will remain in effect, without risk of infringement of the use of ASCAP’s repertory. If you have questions, you can continue to contact our team at [email protected].
Below is recent correspondence received from the Jukebox License Office regarding operators’ jukebox music licensing: We want to inform you of an important change to your public performance jukebox license. As of 2025, we have closed the long-established Jukebox License Office. While we maintained the joint-venture clearinghouse for many years, it is no longer operationally efficient, and we decided to transition away from offering a single PRO license to separate ASCAP, BMI and SESAC licenses. What this means for you: Effective calendar year 2025, you will need to go to ASCAP, BMI and SESAC individually for an annual, coin-operated jukebox license.
We appreciate your understanding as we implement operational improvements. Thank you for your continued patronage. The Jukebox License Office Team Below is the contract info for the three PROs:
