Celebrating 75 Years of AMOA!

We’re celebrating a tremendous milestone in 2023! Throughout the year, AMOA will be commemorating our 75th anniversary promoting and supporting businesses throughout the amusement and entertainment industry. We’re proud of our achievements, and honor those who have made this possible today.

AMOA was founded on January 21, 1948, when 68 jukebox owners from around the country banded together to fight the repeal of the jukebox royalty exemption and to become a leader in our industry. Thanks to decades of smart leadership and a dedicated team of industry professionals, that goal has become a reality! We are grateful to continue our role in uniting operators and other professionals beyond the scope of amusement machines, supplying the tools and support to help their businesses grow and thrive.

The Evolution of AMOA

As the industry has continued to evolve, so has AMOA. We’re certainly not the same association we had 75 years ago! Over the years, we have continued to expand into more market segments and find solutions to the ever-growing challenges facing our members today.

Our presence in Washington is strong. Through our Legislative Counsel, we maintain our presence in our nation’s capital, and keep vigilance over such issues as fair access to banking, regulatory measures affecting vending/redemption equipment, video game content, music licensing and many of the business issues which affect our members nationwide.

We have remained steadfast to delivering solutions that achieve precisely what our members want and need. We’ve realized that goal by implementing educational programs, marketing services and networking events that have helped members improve and expand their businesses. We took it to the next level in the mid-’70s with the introduction of the AMOA-Notre Dame Executive Management Program. Today, AMOA is one of the most highly respected industry associations with deep connections, and expert representation needed to stand for our industry.

Here's to Our Leadership!

We are proud of our history and our position in the industry…and equally proud and honored to give over $1.6 million scholarships and over $100K provided to those in need in the communities we serve through such programs as the Hesch Foundation, Coin-Op Cares, our Platinum Donor Program and more.

Through the years, we have also expanded our educational programs such as On Demand online education, On the Road continuing education and the newest addition, AMOA's Regional Tech School. Jukebox Jams is another program recently developed to promote awareness of the jukebox and increase jukebox play.

We Continue Our Mission

It’s hard to believe that our association was founded in 1948! So much has changed since then. Yet our mission is still clear: to promote and strengthen the amusement and entertainment machine industry and to deliver the highest quality services and support available to our members.

Our commitment to innovation, excellence, and member service has made us who we are today. And we will continue to position ourselves to exceed member expectations and move beyond the common member offerings of traditional industry associations.
